Trump’s Silence on January 6th Compensation Leaves Victims in Limbo

President Trump campaigned in 2024 as the lone champion of the January 6th victims—the men and women who bore the full brunt of the Biden Administration’s weaponization of government. He promised to pardon each of the more than 1,400 Americans targeted in connection with January 6th, and to his credit, he delivered. Those pardons represented a rare measure of mercy in a political system that had turned ordinary citizens into enemies of the state.
But for many of these victims, the story doesn’t end with a pardon. Lives were shattered—financially, socially, and professionally—by years of political persecution. Families were broken, businesses destroyed, reputations ruined, and savings depleted. Yet months into the Trump Administration, little progress has been made toward making these Americans financially whole.
Throughout the 2024 election cycle, Trump repeatedly invoked the plight of January 6th defendants, calling them patriots who suffered for standing with him at a time when it was not popular to do so. On January 6, 2021, then-Representative Moe Brooks famously asked the crowd at the White House lawn rally, “What are you prepared to give of yourself to help save this country?” The men and women who answered that call gave everything—and in return, they were met with retribution unlike any group of Americans in modern history.
If any group has earned the gratitude of the nation, it is them. Some have suggested that the Administration mint a special medal for each pardon recipient—a tangible token of recognition for patriotism that, in the eyes of many, helped stave off a looming leftist takeover of the country. Yet no such effort has been announced. Instead, the overwhelming majority of these victims face the prospect of being memorialized not as honored patriots, but as the financially destitute and homeless casualties of political warfare.
The pardons were a vital first step. But without meaningful financial redress—whether through a compensation fund, restitution program, or legislative action—the victims of January 6th will remain unfinished business for the Trump Administration.
The question that lingers is whether the President who stood by them in word will now stand by them in deed. For those who sacrificed everything in defense of their country and their President, time is running out.

Great concept. Fantastic legacy to piggyback on. I loved KRP and will be looking into this stream. Oh one last thing:
BOOGER!
